Funny faces

Mason makes funny faces quite often and keeps us laughing. But recently, this face is almost constant. I am not sure if he even realizes he is doing it. It is usually accompanied by snorting sounds as well. This makes it very difficult while potty training to determine if he needs to poopoo or not. Apparently, I frequently misunderstand this face for the poopoo face. But I think you can understand why.

Posting from my phone

So once again I have failed at this blogging thing. But! I have learned I might be able to post from my phone! This could change blogging for me. It may take some time to learn but this would definitely help me be a bit more successful.

Let’s see…

Here are my 3 beautiful children! Best. Kids. Ever!!!! So blessed to have them. We just returned from a trip to Isle of Palms, SC, one of the best places in the world! Kids were awesome travelers as usual. Now, tomorrow, back to real life. Maybe a life cataloged by this blog….only time will tell.

Abbeys Latest Profession

When asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, Abbey used to say a mermaid. Clint informed her she would need to find a way to make money (although I think if she could actually be a mermaid, her money would be made). She pondered that every time someone asked the question, and would reply with “I want to be a mermaid, but first I have to find a way to make money”.

Well, since watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, her new response is “I want to be a rocket kick-up girl! Look! I have been practicing!” (picture a 3 year old trying to do the Rockette’s kick line). So, Abbey has decided she wants to be a Rockette and is excited that that profession will make her money!

Things kids say…

Abbey got a leap frog toy from her grandmother this week. It looks like an oversized Blackberry and has learning games on it. One mode is music. She was sitting in the kitchen yesterday and asked, “Do you want to listen to my music?”. Of course i said yes and she replied, “It plays rock and hole music”. I just about fell on the floor laughing!

Mason continues to make great improvement! He is off the IV fluids and eating well still. If all his labs come back good in the morning we should be headed home around lunch time! It is looking promising that I will be able to stay with him tonight in the NICU which I am very excited about. I won’t be able to post again until we get home. Clint is returning home today to get the girls. Once we are home I will post pictures. I can’t tell you how thankful I am for all your prayers!

Well Mason has had a good day. He has eaten well three times now and his IV fluids were stopped but he will continue to get IV antibiotics. His breathing has been normal and he looks great! We were not able to talk to the doctor today so I am anxious to talk to him tomorrow to see what he has to say. I will be discharged in the morning and am hoping to be able to stay with Mason at the hospital tomorrow night. We thought Mason would be going home Saturday but it may be Sunday before he can leave. Please pray for me as my hormones are already out of whack and now there may be the possibility that Mason will have to stay a night in the hospital without me (or really I will have to stay a night away from him!) if he has to stay until Sunday. I am very thankful that he is doing so well. There are many babies in the NICU that have been there a while and will be there longer so I know how lucky we are to have a full term (mostly) healthy baby. I will let you know what we hear tomorrow. Thanks for all the prayers!

Baby Boy Update–Email

Hello Everyone!

I thought I would go ahead and send out a mass update on our newest arrival! Mason Becker Neville made his appearance yesterday, Jan 6th @ 10:52 am weighing in at 7 lbs 6 oz and measuring 19.5 in long. He is beautiful! Labor, delivery, and recovery went very well.

Following Mason’s birth he had some mild respiratory issues, thought to be due to the rapid delivery (once my baby’s start coming, they come fast!). When there isn’t much time in the birth canal, sometimes babies can have a little extra fluid in the lungs that just requires some extra time to absorb. The neonatologist suspects this is all that is going on, but because he can’t be sure, Mason was moved to the NICU for monitoring and IV antibiotics. He is doing well! We have been to visit a couple times and he looks great. His breathing has improved and hopefully today they will let him try to eat. Please keep Mason in your prayers as we wait for lab results and as he continues to make progress in the NICU.

The girls were able to come visit yesterday before he was moved to the NICU. Abbey is so excited that her baby brother is finally here! She held him and loved on him with so much excitement in her eyes! Emma was intrigued for a few moments but then quickly decided she needed to take control of the situation and proceeded to make herself the center of attention again!

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers! I am going to try to keep updates posted to from here on out so you won’t be bombarded with emails or texts. Feel free to email, call, or text us…we love hearing from you!

The idea is that when the baby comes the girls will be sharing a room. So far this has not been successful but I have the room set up for them. One day Emma will get to experience her fun girly room with her sister instead of sleeping in the unfinished boys nursery.

The baby’s room is in the works but I will post those pictures once it is completed. I can’t believe he will be here in 9 weeks! I am not ready!

It was rather chili for halloween this year. The girls had matching poodle skirts that my mom made for them. They were so cute! Unfortunately we did not get really great pictures. It is hard to catch a 1 year and 2 year old looking at the camera or even standing in the same place at the same time. We went to a local church for trunk-or-treat and then to a friends for some warmth by the fire and hot coffee.

The season of Fall

I love this time of year! I have missed watching the leaves change colors and eventually fall to the ground for the last several years. I am so happy to experience it this year and share it with my sweet girls. Emma is my outdoor child. She loves to be outside, rain or shine, hot or cold. She has really enjoyed crunching through the leaves in our front yard. DSCN7688
