The Newest Neville

Wow! I can't believe Abbey is almost 2 months old! It has been so much fun watching her grow! She smiles all the time now and occasionally giggles. It is the sweetest noise!

She still hasn't quite figured out that her hands are attached to her body. Sometimes she can get her fist to her mouth but its not entirely intentional yet.

She must be "in the know" these days. Holding her cradled like a baby does not work unless she is ready to sleep. She prefers to be up on your shoulder so that she can see everything that is going on.

She sleeps like a champ! That has fortunately never been a problem for us. She is sleeping about 6 hours a night. Well, I guess more accurately put is that she can go 6 hours without eating. I frequently wake up to her frustrated cries after she has accidently pulled her pacifier from her mouth.

She enjoys tummy time

Abbey had her 2 month doctors appt this week and had to get those nasty shots. I know I poke kids for a living but it is absolutely pitiful when it is your own child! She did really well (and so did I). She weighs 11 lbs and 8.5 oz now and is 24 in. She is in the 95th percentile for her height...we might have a tall girl on our hands!

She is smiling all the time these days. She has discovered her hands but not her fingers yet. She can get her fist to her mouth intentionally but she finds it rather exciting when she can get just one finger in her mouth. I know it won't be long before she will have control over all 10 fingers. What a day it will be when she discovers she has feet to chew on also!

A great invention for a busy girl like Abbey....the Bumbo chair. This yellow chair allows her to sit up and look around all on her own! It saves my back from having to carry her all the time and she can still be in the middle of everything. She loves it...but only for a short time!

I know she is technically too small for this but it is another place she can play and see all that is going on.
