The Newest Neville

So I have learned I am not good at keeping you all updated on a regular basis. Things have been really great and this baby as been treating me well so there hasn't been a whole lot happening.

We will hit 18 weeks this Thursday. My belly is definitely starting to protrude and I have started to feel the little flutters of our little one swimming and playing. Clint took a picture of the belly at 16 weeks.

Its not a good picture of me really, but you can see a baby belly for sure!

We have our ultrasound appointment set for Jan 25 to find out if its a boy or a girl. I promise to announce our news on the 25th so keep checking in!

Although there was no reason to be, we were very surprised to find out we are having a little a girl. I have thought all along it was going to be a boy and I think I had convinced Clint of the same. Of course we are thrilled, but it did take a minute to switch gears and start thinking pink.

We are 20 weeks today and confirmed we are right on schedule with our ultrasound today. She was not in the mood to put on a show for us. She showed us her face at first, gave a big yawn, and then she rolled over and went to sleep. We got lots of pictures and were able to receive a copy of the entire ultrasound on DVD. The doctor said everything looks great and she is very healthy!

I wanted to post more pictures of our ultrasound for all of you. The last blog was fast and short to get that first picture up. Here are some more from last weeks appointment.

This is probably my favorite picture. At the end of our ultrasound the tech showed her to us in this 3D imaging. The first picture she tried to take, the baby put both hands in front of her face and we couldn't see her. After a couple more tries, we caught her sucking her thumb. It is so cute!

It is amazing how much detail can be seen already and she still has so much growing to do. The first picture below shows her tiny fingers and the last shows her foot. The middle picture shows her putting her hand over her head.

I have recently been able to distinguish her movement from other rumbles in my belly. It is such a wonderful feeling! Right now it is still gentle kicks and pushes, nothing constant or consistent yet.

While Clint was home for a few days last week he was able to feel her little head or butt (not sure which) bulging from belly. That was really neat for him. I'm sure by the time he gets back from Portland he will get to experience some of the kickes and punches too.
