The Newest Neville

First I want to apologize for taking so long to get our baby blog up and running, but here it is! Hopefully we will be able to keep everyone up-to-date with our baby's progress.

So I guess I should start from the beginning...It all started about 13 weeks ago one romantic evening when....ok, just kidding, I won't start that far back!!!

Well, I went back to Alabama for my birthday in Septemeber. I wasn't feeling very well and I couldn't figure out why. I talked to Clint one evening on the phone and he was like, "Do you think you might be....you know?" I said, "Maybe, I don't know!". So I told him I would take a test the next morning and call him. Well, 2 pink lines showed up and I was shocked! I couldn't believe it was true, nor that I knew so early...I was only 3 weeks pregnant! So, I picture messaged Clint with the positive test and wrote, "Good Morning Daddy!" under it. He called (of course) with a greeting of good morning mommy!

It was very exciting and scary all at the same time! I didn't tell anyone while I was in Alabama since it was so early. After returning to Phoenix, I could hardly keep Clint from telling everyone. I held him off until 5 weeks when we broke the news to our friends and family.

So here we are now at 13 weeks. We had our second doctor's appointment last week to listen for the baby's heart beat. The doctor couldn't find it with the doppler. He said, "I have this ancient ultrasound machine over here. Why don't we just take a look and make sure everything is ok." I was very excited because I wasn't supposed to get an ultrasound until 20 weeks. (I didn't know these black and white pictures were considered "ancient" these days. I guess the 3D ultrasound has really taken over.) It was so exciting to see our tiny baby swimming around in there. Even stranger realizing that that baby is swimming around inside me! We were able to see the heart beating and he (I will refer to our baby as he for now because its easy) rolled over to show us a perfect profile and kicked is legs and arms. It was so cute! The picture here isn't a great one. He had just rolled back over from showing his little face.

Well it has been a crazy but fun week in the Neville household. The holidays always bring chaos with shopping, parties, and visiting friends and family...we have been doing them all! Clint's mom spent the last week with us visiting and experiencing Arizona. It was a blast! I will post pictures soon. (I'm still new at this blog thing and require Clint's help a lot!)

The baby is doing well. My clothes don't fit and my belly has grown a little. It seemed to pop over night this last week giving me that beginning roundness of pregnancy. We are almost 15 weeks now! According to my books, our little one is about 3 1/2 inches long and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. It is such an exciting time for us! I have gained most of my energy back that I was lacking in the first trimester and have become a bit more moody. Clint has been absolutely wonderful dealing with my mood swings and taking great care of me.
